[Question] How to make an NPC always use his weapon?

I've created a boss for my pleasure (and maybe others'?), but I cannot make it use it's weapon.

The boss is actually an NPC and it's height is huge :D

I added him a weapon and ammo, but when I attack it he just uses unarmed attack instead of shooting me..

So how can I make it use it's weapon and start shooting me?

Is the boss a super mutant? If so, you'd need to add the weapon to the list of super mutant weapons.

You need to add the weapon into the weapons list of the NPC, much as NorthWolf told you, but what he didn't tell you is that you might also have to edit the combat style in case it has a setting of unarmed only.
