Help with low fps Fallout new vegas

The title says it all , I usually had 30-40 fps with a bunch of mods but after reinstalling Fallout and using mods i dont get anymore than 25 fps , My mods don' take much of a toll because I only have 5 or 6 real mods and the rest are performance mods , I run the game on medium to low settings aswell, and ive tried the d3d9.dll fix but it did nothing with the first file, and I think it might have worked on the second file but I got a blackscreen and could hear the main menu music so it didnt crash or anything , please help as ive read people getting 30+ 20+ fps with this fix , thank you guys in advance

BTW my specs are : Intel Core 2 quad cpu q6600 2.4ghz 32 bit 2gb ram and a ATI Radeon HD 2400 PRO

Have you remembered to re-apply the multi-core fixes in the fallout.ini after re-installing?

That's one possibility. Make sure to do that.

Disable AA completely.

Try disabling the performance mods and see how many fps you get then (maybe one of them "broke").
