Are there any updated, functional .nif import/export plugins for Blender?

I tried the old ones for Blender 2.54, but those just plain don't appear in the import or export tabs despite Blender saying they're installed. I did use the .bat to install them, too.

If there's any other way to import/export .nif's without using a program I have to pay hundreds of dollars for, I'd like to hear that, too.

AFAIK you can build things in Blender, and then import to NifSkope, which can do everything you'll need to prepare files for FO4 plugins. The Blender plugins were just a way to cut out the NifSkope middleman.

my problem is that I have no idea how to prepare a file in nifskope. I followed a tutorial online that helped me get a melee weapon I modelled in game, but it has no collision model despite the .nif file having the collision model in it, and anything with more than one part like a gun is totally out of my league

I like to know what functions the creation kit has in regards to NIFs & Materials

It can export FBX. Other than that, none that I've found so far. You can't even make material files with the CK, but I already did a few material swaps (retextures) with it.
