How do I add weapon mods to my custom weapon?

So, I've managed to get my first standalone weapon into Fallout 4 using the Creation Kit, and I'm a little bit confused about how to enable it to use the weapon mods I've made to go along with it.

 

My weapon is a pickaxe with a couple of mods that change the type of head and the grip on the handle, so I've been trying to imitate how the machete is set up in the Creation Kit but it's kind of confusing to me.
