Hello,

i learned to sculpt in Zbrush a while ago, i was aiming to create models for oblivion characters, (cloths, armour, skins)

however i don't have a clue how to inport them into Oblivion and serching the web didn't help out either especialy since don't know squat about most technical aspects, i just sculpt,..

if somone knows a step by step tutorial for this i would realy apriciate it.

also how do i open an oblivion model in zbrush?

I don't think there is a direct way to do it but then again I have never used Zbrush and am only going by what I read on the web. Oblivion uses .nif files for meshes so you have to find a way to export your mesh and convert it to the .nif format. I saw one plugin called GoZ that adds some interaction between 3dsmax and Zbrush but I don't know if it's a solution. If you don't have 3dsmax then the other solution is to export as an .obj then import the .obj to a free tool such as Blender3d. With the Blender nifscripts installed you can then rig your model to a skeleton and export as a .nif file. You can read this thread which contains everything you ever wanted to know about installing and converting files with Blender. I know you mainly wanted to use Zbrush but I'm not sure that's possible unless someone has made a nifscript that works with the Zbrush program.

  • 3 years later...

Use NIFskope you can import and export to obj to nif and vice versa its pretty light tool and you can see the mesh before you it imports it out its a neat tool im using it right now just load up the NIF export it out to obj to use in zbrush and to make a mesh usable in oblivion from zbrush just import the obj and save it as NIF works great
