cynicalmushroom
Steam updated Fallout 4 today and then I updated NMM as well. The game loaded fine, all my mods worked, but then when I went to save all my previous saves were gone and only a quick save was under my game profile listed as [M] Commonwealth instead of just Commonwealth. I then pressed Y to access the character profile list and noticed I now had two character profiles listed as Jassmine (the profile I loaded the save from), and Jassmine [Modded] where the new quick save was located. I went back into the Jassmine profile and saved my game, tried to load it and noticed it had been moved into Jassmine [Modded]. Since the updates and the fact that I have a modded game is this supposed to happen?
Madchieften
Yep, that's supposed to happen, its so they can disable achievements for playing with mods.
Stargazer09
What?! What kind of half-baked thinking is that? Using the console still allows achievements, but not mods??
cynicalmushroom
That is a really stupid move...even for Bethesda. What's the point in trying to prevent "cheating" as they call it. Whatever, they can try to stop something all they want but someone somewhere is going to hack around it. Thank you for the answer.
Firuu
So annoying.Bethesda really needs to learn that we don't need any of their stupid modding-system on PC.This now is even worse than Steam workshop.. Just give us CK and leave the rest to us, Bethesda!
Celthair
Ok, some information for everyone from Bethesda.net and Steam. Apparently to get Microsoft to allow mods on the Xbox One Bethesda had to disable Achievements for anyone using a modded version of the game on the console. This is in part due to Microsoft apparently using "Achievements earned in a set period of time" as some form of currency which can be used to buy stuff on their system (see steam discussion thread -achievements wil be diseble if you use mods.. - towards the end of the discussion for more information). So to get mods on consoles Bethesda had to make some accomadations to the console manufacturers. Not saying it's right or wrong but would have liked the Patch notes to warn us about the incoming change.
Firuu
I knew it..Consoles always make PC gamers life difficult. Why not keep this restriction XBOX exclusive then?
