Moguai
This is kinda wierd but here's the scoop: When I start a game, I have to go into the video settings and adjust all the sliders and detail, etc. Some of the options can only be implemented with a restart of the game (for example texture size). The issue is that whenever I restart the game, the settings are restored to what Oblivion sets them at. This is not a hardware challenged system. c2d @ 3.42ghz (24hr stable), hd2900xt (1gb - oc'd to 853/1153), etc. Also, on a side note, anyone try using 24x a/a yet? Whenever I do, the buildings look wierd. Thanks for the help. impmallet
Sounds to me that it could possibly be that your oblivion.ini is set as read only. Not assuming your level of knowledge or trying to belittle you, but check the ini to make sure this is not the case. Also, are you using windows vista? If so, I would not be surprised in the least if it was restriction conflict laid down by the OS.
BlueShiftSolo
I don't know what's causing it, but I know a way to make this problem amount to absolutely nothing: Open up your default.ini file in your oblivion directory, and change the default settings to your optimal settings. When it resets, it'll reset to them instead.

When it resets, it'll reset to them instead. I would try this but I'm not confident enough in how and what to change. Kudos to both, thanks for the help and let me know if there is anything else I could try.
