Gatling Laser Ammo Fix

Is there a way to stop the gatling laser switching to the most full fusion core in your inventory when swapping weapons? (e.g. you shoot 100 shots, swap to a pistol, swap back to the laser and it still is using the same core so it has 400 shots left)

Or is there already a mod that does this? Not the gatling laser ammo improvement mod, as i want to use ammo weight from survival & fusion cores.
