OBSE teething troubles

Hello all,

I'm a total newbie to OBSE having just reinstalled Windows after a very lengthy process. I've chosen to trial the whole thing by using 'Deadly Reflex'. I'm not sure where everything goes, really, because it doesn't seem like a simple 'drop into the data folder' process. I had to put everything from the original OBSE loader download into the same folder as the Oblivion.exe. I chose to put these in the folder where the .exe file sits (namely the 'Oblivion' folder before the 'data' folder).

Do all of the 'Deadly Reflex' files have to be in the same place as well? At the moment they're all in the data folder. The problem is that many of the effects do not seem to come about such as the beheading and various other sorts of delicious and very satisfying violence, even when I've chosen to crank up the possibility of this happening to 100%. The moves appear to be working okay but not the effects. Where am I going wrong? Do I need to put things in a different folder?

Any help or suggestions would be gratefully appreciated. Thanks,

Steve

No, the mod files do not go into the Oblivion folder. The .esp and .esm files go in Oblivon\Data and there are folders (Meshes, Sounds, Textures) in the zip file also. Copy these folders into Oblivon\Data also. So you have Oblivion\Data\Meshes; Oblivion\Data\Sounds; etc..

Launch Oblvion with the original shortcut, choose Data Files from the first menu and select the mods you want to run. Do not start Oblivion from here, only set the mods to run, then exit. Now launch Oblivion from the Oblivion Launcher that came with OBSE.
