bencebence
Hey everybody! As you can see in the topic name, I got angry on the CS. I tell you why;I'm working on the dungeon. Everything went fine. I almost finished the room before the last one, when this happened: I couldn't use the mouse commands anymore. With lot of pain and time I placed the remaining things (no monsters yet duh) then I wanted to place the door to the last level. I placed it, connected them; and I can't place down the yellow teleport marker, because I can't select it in the objects window.Yes, I've already restarted CS multiple times. Also all the other places work, apart from this.Anything like this happened to anyone? If yes, (or even no, but knows a solution) can tell me a solution? Thanks in advance;bencebence
David Brasher
Have you accidentally changed the movement sensitivity settings for the render window? (Right-click on ground or grey void >Render Window Properties>Movement) Have you accidentally turned on path-gridding mode? Have you accidentally turned on snap-to-grid? Does your mouse work properly when running other programs?
bencebence
My mouse works perfectly. I don't have path-gridding turned on and my movement tab looks like this:http://img695.imageshack.us/img695/1645/movementy.jpg Edited July 14, 2011 by bencebence
fg109
Maybe you can try using the Construction Set Extender? It prevents many of the bugs you can get from the construction set.
bencebence
Hmpf, CS is way faster now, but I still can't select any objects. This is the strange thing. All other cells/objects work, expect that specific cell. I think the easiest way will be to remake it.
David Brasher
Are you selecting something that is in between you and the object you want to select? Many objects have havok that extends way beyond where you would expect it to go. The object in the way might also be an object that is difficult to see. If this was the problem you were having though, you would have your red, green, and blue box appear around the object you had accidentally selected that was blocking your line of fire to the thing you really wanted to select. You would also be able to move this obstruction that you had selected wherever you wanted and you would be able to see that this was going on by watching the computer screen. Usually if I have a problem, completely shutting down the CS and then booting it up again will return function to normal. But it sounds like this does not help you at all. You might try duplicating your cell and seeing if you can edit the copied cell okay rather than laboriously rebuilding your cursed cell piece by piece. bencebence
Thanks for the help, but I've already remade the cell, tweaked it a little bit, so now it's even better :DI don't know what was wrong. I duplicated the cell, even restarted the computer but nothing helped at all.Anyways thanks again.
