amycus
Hi all.I have previously uploaded the mod "armor of the wardens burden" on Daragonagenexus, but since it was my first project I kinda rushed it (since I wasn't sure if I would ever get it working in-game), and the mesh as a result didn't look as good as it should have with far too many unnecessary polygons and invisible areas. Thus I decidd to start over from scratch and have this as my mesh now: http://i296.photobucket.com/albums/mm200/amycus89/sample2-2.jpg?t=1310731815http://i296.photobucket.com/albums/mm200/amycus89/sample1-2.jpg?t=1310732297http://i296.photobucket.com/albums/mm200/amycus89/sample3.jpg?t=1310732376 This is my reference: http://static2.evermotion.org/files/EVRprfolio/08a51b7dfaa23f9e3b829478d0459ed2f265e84a.jpg Current polycount: 4588 Since I seem to have problems on spotting the differences after working with it I would like to ask others if they can spot any errors I've made in the shape (size of shoulder pads, etc). It's a lot easier to change anything now than after I've textured and rigged it. Edited August 6, 2011 by amycus
sendo75
Its really hard to find significant model differences even though I enjoy a good Photo Hunt session. Have given up after 20mins of tedious comparison on a small screen and declare that you are my hero. Amazing work sir. I'm no expert but here are my views. I did notice a difference in the overall texture blend, it might be just the environment lighting. The brown leather parts in the trailer armor seems to be of less contrast, much more polished. When I see the trailer armor, the metalic polished surface is more overpowering while in your version, the leather parts stands out more. I am guessing it could be the specularity of the leather/chain portions but I could be wrong, the leather in your version does looks more realistic but I like the trailer version. I just want to make sure, you did see that I wrote "reference pic" above the last picture right? I'm a bit confused, because my own, current version (first 3 pics) doesn't have any textures yet... Just to make sure and avoid further misunderstandings, this pic: http://static2.evermotion.org/files/EVRprfolio/08a51b7dfaa23f9e3b829478d0459ed2f265e84a.jpg was made from the guy who made the original armor used in the trailer, and was used as a reference while I worked. sendo75
Lol sorry for confusion, big image on my small laptop makes me miss the description. My comments were on the textures of the reference against the appearance of the armor in the trailer so ignore it since its my mistake.
t0mm06
there are 2 really small things i can see, the first is the front tail is a little too square, it might be worth pulling up the two outside vertex' a tiny bitand the top of the chest, looks and im not sure if im right here but too me in the reference it looks like it bends back in to towards his neck (so it'd stay flush with the chest, whereas yours sticks out from where the wardens chest would be a little. on a side note, i love how you have done the metal plate that runs along the arm under the shoulder pads, as DAO armour normally just texturs that, but would it be possible to add one more the warden has 3 and yours has
t0mm06
on a less critical note, your armour is literally (i think) the best custom armour that has been made for DAO so far,
amycus
Thanks for the comments. I have updated the mesh a bit now:http://i296.photobucket.com/albums/mm200/amycus89/sample3-1.jpg?t=1312726699 the top of the chest, looks and im not sure if im right here but too me in the reference it looks like it bends back in to towards his neck (so it'd stay flush with the chest, whereas yours sticks out from where the wardens chest would be a little. Not sure if I understand what you are trying to say. Could you please elaborate?

Could you please elaborate?if you look at the warden the top of the chest piece looks like it is more flush with his chest so at the top point it isnt as far out as your mesh, but lookign at it this could just be because the reference pictures have helmets on so it just looks like the armour comes out further

amycus
Alright, new update. Changes include: *Added belt parts on the chest area*Made the shoulderpads a bit smoother*Redone the thin "straps" between the shoulder pads and the throat*Adjusted the upper part of the greaves* Changed and moved the armored parts on the upper arms*Widened the "V"-shape on the chest plate*"Flattened" the chest piece where the griffon is suppossed to be so that it isn't as protruding. Let me know if there is anything else you think should be changed. http://i296.photobucket.com/albums/mm200/amycus89/preview.jpg?t=1312824598http://i296.photobucket.com/albums/mm200/amycus89/sample1-3.jpg?t=1312824599http://i296.photobucket.com/albums/mm200/amycus89/sample3-2.jpg?t=1312824599 Edited August 8, 2011 by amycus
