Wrye Bash Trouble

Recommended Posts

Whenever I open Wrye Bash it starts to flash uncontrollably and the Mark Mergable window comes up and starts flashing on and off.

It actually does it ANY time it automatically does its Mark Mergable. EXCEPT when I choose to rebuild my Bashed Patch. The only way I've been able to get around it is to copy a new Bashed Patch 0 esp everytime I need to rebuild it. I haven't switched to cbash at all.

I'm at a loss at what to do here. I've tried so many things my brain is about to explode!

It's these kind of threads that put me off trying it.

It's actually really awesome and easy to use once you get the hang of it, but right now I'm having trouble. It's one of those BOSS and Wrye Bash both are going through upgrading pains I guess.

I have all the files sitting in my 'to do' folder........taunting me and my ineptness :P

What is a stable build right now? 293 or 291?

If you have the new BOSS

Install the 293 and then use this post http://www.thenexusf...55#entry3344755 for instructions on updating Wrye Bash to get it to work with the new BOSS.

If you end up having the same trouble I did, then use the GNU Tarball here http://oblivionworks.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/oblivionworks/Programs/Wrye%20Bash/?pathrev=1393

The installation instructions are exactly the same.

I have mine fixed now. Good Luck. It's not that bad once you figure out the basics.

I knew i would regret this....been messing around for an hour and still not even got 293 working......

i can feel the fun being sucked out of the game as i speak.

Did you install Python 4a from the nexus Wrye Bash page? When you installed Wrye Bash did you select Oblivion and Python at the end? Did you download the GNU Tarball like the post said? Once you install 293 you need to place the tarball into the Oblivion directory and not the DATA folder. Extract the Wrye Bash folder inside into the Oblivion folder. Once you do that delete your Mopy folder in the Oblivion folder. Then go into the the new wrye bash folder and copy ONLY the DATA and MOPY folders and paste them into the Oblivion folder. Again not the DATA folder.

Once you have them go into the Mopy folder and go into the TEMPLATES folder and COPY not cut the Bashed Patch, 0.esp and PASTE it into your DATA folder. Then go back into the MOPY folder and double click on the Wrye Bash Launcher. Once Wrye Bash is up, make sure it is on the mods tab and RIGHT click on the FILE tab right underneath. Select SORT BY and click Load Order.

That's the best I can do for now. Let me know how it goes or if you need me to clarify anything.
