Mod Request concerning "The Arena" Quest

When i complete the arena faction questline (become grand champion), i get a normal quest complete, the quest is removed from my active quest list and enters the completed quest list. BUT along with that, a new uncompletable quest called "The Arena" pops into my active quest list with the description "I've got everything." This is deceptive because, using 'caqs' i came to find that this is actually most likely a foul side effect of some thieves den development testing and has nothing to do with the actual Arena questline...

ANYWAY

i have two comments;

1. does anyone else have this problem?

 

2. could someone make a mod to get rid of this unsightly refuse?

The arena remains as an open quest in your journal as it is never possible to complete it. The same is true of the Antipodean Hammer quest in Shivering Isles and perhaps a couple of others. Sorry but you have to leave it as open until someone finds a mod to eliminate it. (They may already have done so but I would not know where to look to find out.)

No, that's not quite how it is. While there is an open arena quest (the one saying "As arena Grand Champion I can compete in weekly fights against various creatures, etc."), there is also another unfinished quest that simply says "I've got everything". Can't be continued, can't be completed.

Exactly. And the weird part is, that it's not even really associated with the arena quest. it's just called the arena, and unfortunatly activates at the end of the arena quest. caqs will tell you it's actually a remnant of a theives den development testing quest that should have been removed from the release code. i've looked for it with the CS, but i can't find it. or i'd mod it out myself.

 

(update) i just loaded up the theives den mod in the CS and there it was, right on top. i knew it was a test quest for this thing. but after trying and failing, i realized i don't know how to make mods. heh. can someone please get rid of this digital waste?

Okay, have you simply tried deleting it?

 

Load data files with Thieves Den as active file.

 

The option to delete is there.

 

If anything goes wrong you can reload the Thieves Den plug in. It only takes a few seconds.

Here are detailed instructions for what Malchik said to do:

 

1) Open up the CS

2) Open data files and highlight DLCThievesDen.esp

3) Click on "Set as Active File" and then click "Details..."

4) Scroll through the list of items until you find the line with type "QUST" and EditorID "Arena".

5) Highlight that line and hit delete on the keyboard. Confirm the dialogue box then hit Close and OK.

6) Once the mod is loaded, save it and exit the CS.
