foxgrin
It would be nice to be able to have a choice of furniture styles for the vanilla homes. It would also be nice to have some modded homes come with optional furniture packages to buy. The furniture packages for the vanilla homes would need to have different names so the player could tell them apart from the vanilla packs. Variety is wonderful and if we could mix and match different furniture packages it would make our homes feel more customized to our tastes. For example, maybe you like the way the vanilla bedroom looks in a home but hate the living room, you could purchase the vanilla bedroom package and an alternative (non-vanilla) furniture package for the living room. A modded home that could be sold as empty with instructions to buy the furnishings could offer many different furniture styles for sale. Either room by room or as a whole depending on how the modder prefers to do it. Room by room would offer more variety for the player and could be purchased in sections if they can't afford to buy the entire set at once. There are people who use the furniture from the 'Imperial Furniture Store' mod and decorating help with the 'Decorator Assistant' mod but they can sometimes be a pain in the you know what to use. So I think many people who would like a more customized home don't bother because of the effort involved in decorating manually using those mods. Don't get me wrong, I use those mods and love them, but I can see how people might get discouraged with some of thier limitations and idiosyncrasies. Buyable alternative furniture packages could be a way to customize thier homes much easier. Perhaps in addition to the packages, special decorating items could be sold as well to allow for more customization for the player. Probably best to keep these items small and fairly easy to place for the players who don't use the decorator assistant. Maybe even add some unique and fun items for players to use along with the furniture packs, ie...photographs of dead monsters (hanging from a tree) in standing picture fames or on small posters that could be hung on the wall, small mirrors that could be hung or placed on a counter (they wouldn't need to work, just look like a mirror), Hourglasses with a small bell & hammer attached to the side or top for a fake but fun alarm feature, colorful or white candles in a jar or on a small saucer, candy bowls full of candy, dog & cat food dishes full of food, drinking skulls full of drink, food or with a candle in the middle, dirty magazines to place by the bed (can be suggestive w/o showing too much), box of tissues (to put with the dirty mags, he he), toilet paper, bathroom & kitchen towels, dinner napkins, rolling pins...plus whatever else you can think of:<)
