red exclamation mark

i keep getting a red sqaure with a exclamation mark im new to fallout 3 mods and i put all mods inside the data folder and enable them when i lanuch fallout and play the game can anyone help me with how to add mods and get them working please

Did you put the 'meshes' and 'textures' folders into 'Data' too?

 

If not, do it.

i opened the folder and put all of the files and folders into the data folder

This will not necessarily do the trick. First of all, I'm going to assume that the items that are getting the red diamond/exclamation mark are those added by the mod. Extract the mod files (re-download it if you deleted the archive) to a directory other than your fallout 3 one (i.e. downloads, desktop, etc.) and look at the folder structure within the data folder of the mod.
