divahnista
Ok,So i'm now trying to slither my way into the mod world, which was working great as i learned the basics of modding and started making my own little mod with stuff oblivion already offers. Now I started searching the inter looking for the ways to make my own models and get them into oblivion i discovered that there are nif scripts for Blender which is great its for the old version right. So i go and uninstall Blender and go to tesnexus and download the Blender Stable package.I follow the instructions and nothing works at this point i've given up i dont know if theres a post about this yet but does anyone know of a nif editor for the new blender? gingermike
I had some probs with this as well. If you've followed the instructions it should work. I was initially trying to 'open' the nif files. However, you have to 'import' nifs - blender is only designed to 'open' .blend files. Import is under file aswell in blender 2.49.Hope this helps. DrakeTheDragon
Last time I checked NIF Scripts support for the new 2.5 Blender was still being worked on. I'm pretty sure Amorilia or the team will notify us soon enough when it's done.As far as I'm aware there is no alternative to this either. Jaguarrior
I use NifSkope to open the .nif file, then export it from there as an .obj file. Once it's an .obj file u can then import it into blender. An extra step I know but it's the only way at this point if you want to mod nifs in blender. Candex
I know you said you followed the instructions, but sometimes things are overlooked. When I installed all that of the blender package, I failed to install the nifScripts inside Blender's Scripts folder. Thus the import option was not available. Jaguarrior
NifSkope is a totally different program, not associated with Blender. I found it while google searching for programs that will open .nif files. Then discovered that it would play a dual role in helping me import them into the latest version of Blender 2.5a by having an export feature that allows me to convert the file into an .obj format which Blender supports.
