is there any mod or something that can change the notices that appear when you load up a new mod (eg, vegas bounties, nevada skies, honest hearts etc etc). what was interesting is that fallout 3 had all the DLC messages, but somehow fallout wanderer's edition, converted them into those unobtrusive messages that appear in the top left then disappear.

how is that done?

Any pop-up message box can be changed to one of the less obtrusive messages that appear in the top left by clicking a checkbox in GECK, in the message object.

It's very simple to do. And it would be easy to find the message objects using the "Find Text" search feature in GECK, just type in the text (or partial text) of a message and it will locate the object(s) that use it.

ah cheers, i might have to do a patch for the mods i use to stop this, so far its honest hearts, dead money, nevada skies, vegas bounties that cause me problems. that way they can get updated normally but i'll just my patch on last to stop the pop-ups.

thanks you may have saved my sanity!

Yes, I'm definitely with you on hating the pop-ups being overused. They do have a useful place, but for many messages the less obtrusive ones are vastly preferable. I try to only use pop-up messages in my mods if I think its really important for the player to get a message, but I try to make sure they are a one-time-only event.

The most useful and important place for a pop-up, imnsho, is when you need to send an important message to the players when they may be loading their game. The top-left messages can easily be lost and go unnoticed but the pop-ups will be guaranteed to get your message through. But I'd try to ensure it appears once and never again in that game.

true for the mod author, if the message it needs to go out but personally as i'm not able to make a mod worthy of putting out there, its annoying how a message reappears after disabling then reenabling it makes the message come back.

bur for me, since i know what mods i want to use (and probably would have seen the messages more than once) its drives me less crazy. its like all the available DLC so far (f3/fnv), why do i need to be told about the mission and in the case of DM/HH about the level cap! i brought the thing, i'm not going to wonder later on ooh where did this come from, oh yeah its that DLC i brought.
