FlorisVI
Yeah, its an awsome idea, but it seems too hard. Although i think there are mods which are way harder to do, so its no impossible i assume. I couldn't do it myself, no experience in modding at all :(
Simpson3k
Take into consideration that it might look pretty weird at some spots when "laying" on the chest while the legs are hovering in the air when being prone on a very small spot... or worse laying on the shin and everything above is flying. Only alternative would be A to sink certain body parts into the ground or B add even more animations for legs to lower instead of hovering There are already similar problems with normal walking when standing on a narrow places, but when laying on those places it might look to weird. beaverfeaver12
For anyone interested on making a prone mod for Fallout 4. Here is one for New Vegas. https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/49491/ I imagine that this could be replicated in some way for Fallout 4. It has no pictures but I used it when I lasted played New Vegas and it was awesome.
lazloarcadia
The way they did it in FNV was to simply not have a 3rd person animation (yeah it was sorta a cop out but made creating the mod much more doable). 2nd) the animation was done in two stages, the 1st was to crouch and the 2nd was to crouch a second time. Normally hitting crouch a second time would result in the character standing up, but with the mod installed it progressed to prone mode. What it actually did was to simply drop the character an additional X / Y axis depth and activated a hidden perk which gave additional stability and vats hit chance.Don't know if any of that helps, but it was how it was done in the past and worked reasonably well...at least in lieu of a better option. THOMASTHETHIEF
personally i would just be happy with a first person prone mod that would give me decent coverespecially with the ghilly suit modwhich even when kneeling with lvl 4 sneak and maxed out muffle on armors still does not hide you from anyone
