CutterButter
I am requesting/suggesting someone attempt to create a mod that allows one to have a bow or 2h weapon equipped on a character while also having a blade, belted axe or mace on the belt. I believe there are mods in existence that do this in the form of an amulet that makes a fake bow or sword appear but it works out just being silly. If this mod already is floating around I truly am sorry, I tried searching; but a suitable name for this mod would be a toss up, so it was hard knowing where to look. Thanks in advance for any help! 8)
ninja_lord666
I'm pretty sure this is impossible as you can only have one weapon equipped at a time.
Sypron
I'm hoping that TES:V will have multiple equipt slots (like fable) so you can have (if you choose) one bow, one short weapon and one long weapon at the same time. Its completely pointless, but I'd still like to see it.
WrathOfDeadguy
I have to admit, it annoys me just a bit that my char could have both a shortsword/dagger and a bow yet only one can be 'unpacked' at a time. It wouldn't be practical for a character to be able to draw both weapons at once, but what if just by having a weapon in your inventory it displayed on your character model in the slot it would take up if equipped (yet be unable to draw the weapon until it is equipped)? Or, better yet, after the first time a weapon is equipped, it remains in position even if it is later unequipped (removing the placeholder if the weapon is equipped again of if it is removed from inventory)? Osiris5768
It would be a good idea if you had like a bow on your back a sheath for a sword by your side and a sheath for a dagger on the other!

Bottom line is that it cannot be done in any way, shape, or form with Oblivion. End of story. One of the reasons why this probably wasn't done was to save on the poly count. Have to remember, as far as equipping goes, the player is just like any other NPC, what you can do, other NPCs would also be doing. Meaning that it wouldn't be just you adding an extra 2000 or so polygons to every scene, it would be every other NPC who has more than 1 weapon who would be doing that as well. One of the other reasons is because it would require some additional systems to display items on the NPC which aren't necessarily being equipped. Since all things which are displayed, have to be equipped, and all things equipped affect the NPC there would likely be issues with combat, and figuring out what is supposed to be used then. Have to remember, the equipment system as is isn't even as good as the one in Morrowind, which it was based. It does its job well enough, and isn't confusing for all those 360 owners. Bethsoft saw no reason for overhauling the system to do anything like this since it would take time away from other areas of development, and wouldn't have really proven useful for anything other than the obvious visuals (at which point framerate within the 360 environment was likely their main concern). WrathOfDeadguy
It would probably give my system a heart attack, to be sure. It is a nice bit of wishful thinking, though- perhaps next time around. Maybe by then I'll have a comp that can handle the detail, too.
tsolless
Only thing close to is making a shield that looks like a weapon.
greek_archon
or just open blender import the cuirass and bow/2hander and manually put it on the back of the cuirass sure you cant use it but still thats the closest thing you can get
Sypron
In the end its just for looks. Have multiple weapons stuck to your torso doesn't acheive anything, thats why they probably didn't put it in.
