Seiryujinn
Okay, so I've been pulling mods for about the past 48 hours, looking for a couple specific things. One, I'd like better hair choices for the default races. I have made a decently cute elf girl with Cute-Elves-Mysitc Unicorn mod, but I'd like to also have decent male hair choices. I'd also like to have decent looking default races, if there is a mod that 'retextures' them. And speaking of textures, I can't help but notice in places the texture resolutions seem low. Are there high quality texture mods? What inspired my interest is the girl in this screenshot, who manages to look beautiful and classy, without having to wear a stripperific outfit as several of the mods deem. CCC This is the largest collection of Hair and Eyes that I know of. You can only have one hair/eye mod active at a time to my knowledge so if HDD space and an extreme number of options aren't issues, this is probably the one to go with. High Res Textures for HGEC Body. This includes high res body and facial textures for all races. The Facial textures are a separate download. Also, This requires you have an HGEC body installed. EVE HGEC Eyecandy Variants Expansion This is my pick of HGEC Body replacers, it's easy to install and configure and comes with replacement clothing and armor to match the body pieces you choose. Happy modding.
Seiryujinn
Thanks, downloading those now and applying them. I'm trying Midas's Magick mods, I'm hoping this will improve magicka enough that I can main it. Also, I was planning on trying Obscuro's Overhaul, but I was unsure how that would impact other mods I have in place. If not Obscuro's, is there some other mod to adjust levelling, rather than forcing me to either A) console my skills/stats to stay ahead of the curve B) Wear 100% chameleon gear and lol at the game. I personally don't get all of the OP magicka mods. Sure, the magicka curve is a harder path than combat or stealth, but once you're up there in destruction and alteration it makes the game feel like Super Mario Bros.
Seiryujinn
Because even at the end game by default, a maxed out destruction user can't kill anywhere near as efficiently as some melee guy hurtling full speed into the middle of a group and just going to town swinging his enchanted weapons around. The sword user never really degrades in performance (besides fatigue, which frankly, has always seemed pretty meaningless to me), and as long as they keep repair hammers stocked, they can fight continuously forever. The kind of power spells you need to just compete with that tend to drain half or more of the users bar and this cost is paid whether the blast hits or not, and no amount of regen allows you to throw out these power spells at anything resembling a melee characters rate

Breton of The Mage in Full Ebony armor with a Black Hood mostly enchanted with Fortify Magicka 50. I could two-hit a Dremora Lord at level 40, three-hit a Lich after casting the expert level dispel... And that's not even considering my >100 armor rating after casting Shield or my 90% Magicka resistance after casting Resist Magicka and on top of that, Absorb Magicka... I guess the Magicka cost of spells on target and spells that cover an area are rather high, but that doesn't change how game-breakingly overpowered a well planned mage can be with the default Magicka system. Seiryujinn
Right, you have to get in melee, hit the target with a melee weapon enchanted to break it's resistances, and then touch it in melee to deliver a spell. Not how I envision playing a mage. I want to be able to hurdle death from a distance just as effectively as archer builds... rather, more effective than archer builds, since I think magic should always be the best end game option (or best all-game option, ala Dragon Age 1).
