Unique Weapons with Unique Models

I am a bit disappointed with the unique weapons looking the same as vanilla weapons.

I'm curious if there is a mod in the works already for something like this. Don't eat me alive if this is near impossible I am no where near knowledgeable in this situation,

I'm not sure if you can assign a texture to a specific weapon that will take priority if its unique. As an example, the 44 magnum has its default texture, but the unique has its own id so could you assign a different texture to that one making it engraved or gold (whatever.) If not a copy of that model that already has its own texture would make it a pretty big download and a lot of new objects/textures for fallout 4 to screw up with right?
