The_Vyper
As the title suggests, I'm trying to make a red version of the plasma grenade explosion, but I've hit quite a snag: I'm getting a mix of red and green in the explosion. What I've done: Opened the FXExplosionPlasma.nif in NifSkope. Changed every NiMaterialProperty color from the native green to equivalent red. Changed every green vertex color (found in block details of NiTriStripsData) from green to equivalent red. That took a while because there are a lot of vertexes to change; some even looked white although they were set to green (I changed those, too). Saved as a new mesh, assigned it to a custom explosion in GECK, assigned explosion to a new grenade projectile, & the assigned projectile to new grenade. The problem: While a large part of the explosion is red, there are a number of parts that are still green. The particles remain green even though they should be red, and there is a bubble-like part of the explosion that is still green as well. I've looked at the mesh again and again in NifSkope and I can't find the parts I need to change. Can anyone tell me what's necessary to make this whole explosion red? Purr4me
did you switch out the dds files the nif points too?
The_Vyper
did you switch out the dds files the nif points too?I checked on those, and changing them out doesn't appear to be necessary in this instance. The .dds files in this particular mesh are all "effects" type textures that have no native color; they get their in-game colors from the .nif settings. The yellow and blue lights used in the Enclave tileset are set up the same way: the textures on the glowing parts have no color of their own, but are given color in the .nif settings. Thanks anyway, though.
sLoPpYdOtBiGhOlE
Did you recolor the Imagespace Modifier (PlasmaISFX) as well? That's the green lit concussion effect of the grenade blast.

For some reason, I'm still getting green parts.
