Dialogue help?

Since I've been busy working, I havn't really had much time to go into some of the finer details within a mod... Essentially adding content that people will think is just plain neat. One of these details with my fighters guild mod is a mining camp near Anvil. The idea was so that I could have some more interesting facets to the mod for players to stumble across. You know, hidden plots and such. Also since the gold coast only seems to have one gold mine (and that's already used by a quest), I figured it would add something else that was lacking to the world. But I've decided I wanted to go the extra step and make it something greared more towards keeping you stealthy thieves happy. Dispite the fact that the mine will have actual miners mining *gasp*, I'll also be planning on having a small collection of guards to keep it safe and the player out. Now some of you may be wondering, if I'm going through the trouble of making a mine, why not let the player work in the mine... I say that's a dumb idea. What fun is toiling away in a dark pit whacking at a wall, waiting for that piece of gold to be loose enough to extract? That isn't something that an adventurer would do, no... They would sneak in, and steal the gold others have worked so hard to get. Besides the point... The Bosmer have a strict monopoly over the mining industry, and make sure that all mining jobs go to their own members. Those that try to stand against them have their feet chopped off at the knees and are forced to walk around looking up at every Bosmer they see, for as long as they live (fate worse than death).

Anyhow, I was wondering if anyone came across any guard dialogues where the guard, or someone of authority makes verbal warnings to leave. I've already looked through the Cheydinhalt, and the Sanguine quests, but was wondering if anyone had come across something else I could probably use. I would still have to hook it up to my own dialogue (since the ones related to the quests are NPC specific) to those same voice files (simple matter). I just wanted to know if anyone had come across any others which might fit the situation better. Planning on putting the guard outside the mine... so standard tresspass warnings probably wouldn't fit.

I already have some ideas on how I want to setup the guard (trust me, it'll be challenging, and fun, if I get it working), and am pretty much deadset on the player never being employed by the mine. Why? Because there seem to be alot of people who like being sneaky, might as well give them something else to do. While it might entertain some to work in a mine, or maybe even run it, for my purposes, and in keeping with the spirit of the mod, I felt it was better as something the player doesn't get directly involved with. Who knows, you may even be able to do some mining in the end, just not in any welcome way.

But yeah, kinda need some dialogues to work with, and since I don't have the time to run through every quest, or look over every topic, I figured it would be faster asking. Additionally, it lets people know that I am still working on something, even if it isn't directly related.

But what if the player character is a Bosmer?

The problem really lies in two seperate areas. First, for the player to become a miner, there would have to be more new dialogues, some quests, and other stuff which would distract from the nature of the mod (being a fighters guild mod). Second there is the difficulty with trying to make gold ore spawn when a gold vein is hit by a mining pick. Onhit only seems to work when it runs on actors, and there wouldn't be any way to detect who was doing the hitting. Onhitwith only works with arrows for some silly reason. And Ontrigger doesn't seem to work when used on containers, and would probably trigger when an actor, not a weapon, hit the object. I was planning on letting the player do some light mining, but still have to sneak into the mine. However since I can't make things work like that, it may just have to be NPC only. From a story standpoint, even if the player was a Bosmer, they would still have to get certified by the mining guild.

I may just have to ditch the whole idea completely.
