Old on Vvardenfell, new on the Nexus

Hi there

A couple of minutes ago I finally created my Nexus account. There is one very specific reason, and that is to post a Huge and Devastating Mod for Morrowind. The mod has its own site, but no one ever comes there, and i knitted it myself so it's a fun place but not a solid forum kind of thing. Friends on the BGS Forum strongly advised me to publish the mod here so that it may reach the broader audience i think it deserves.

It has been some 11 years in the making, and as the Current Edition Title suggests, it isn't finished yet. BUT it's a beauty of balance (tough) and Gameplay. Well, that's a proud daddy speaking of course, so i hope you'll be able to try it out for yourselves one of these days / weeks.

The Current Edition is approximately at GOLD Status, i've been finalizing and then vinylizing and then some more polishing it for months now. I take quality very seriously, and when i publish something at a place like this, i want it as perfect as can be.

English is not my native tongue, so please forgive if i accidentally insulted anyone.

Kind Regards

Rolf

HAVE FUN!

When you walk out of the Census and excise, drop your package and return the ring, talk to the golden dremora, and wander off into the wilderness filled with brightly shining colourful friends, you'll realize that this is a different Vvardenfell. Your level 1 can swim in the sea, enter a tomb, or even visit Dagoth Ur, and hardly ever engage into a fight. Instead, it's a time for learning. And a bit of fighting.

By the time your level 80 finally gets some well deserved explore tune after hours of battle, running, jumping, evading, charging, blasting, drinking, casting massive destructions and healings, you'll exhale and maybe yell WHOA in the process, and then you'll walk on and there's that Battle Hymn again, and you're back on the killing spree.

This Mod is dangerous. For the Hero and for the Player. So beware. Pandora's Box was just a toy. Its original title was Adrenaline Rush. Well, no. Before that, i called it Diablowind. But the Battle and Item Fever is only part of the Mod. Substantial, but - well. Simply see for yourself. Oh, and, er, before you go: don't try to kill a friendly creature for its loot. On the other hand: quicksave and DO try ... You'll never know what killed you. It WASNT the Friend, that's not a spoiler...

So. It's not a retexture mod. On the other hand: the BSA is 80+ MB. It's a gameplay mod. Functional retextures, ok, but they're NOT the point. Why does the Balmora Orc lady want that Llevule skull so badly? What makes Goris a King? Well, these and many more questions will be answered in this era's episode of Azura's Touch.

Ever wondered how a level 1 rat or mudcrab survived evolution attacking level 50+ Heroes? Same here. So there's an option in a Tool. Which you won't receive until conditions are met. And then it may still be a while. But in the end, you'll watch cliff racers flying by and have a mead with rieklings and cetera. If you so choose.

I am very inconsolably sad that i never received a proper welcome hug by Lisnpuppy. Having said that, i'm having a lot of fun on the Nexus, never expected it to be so immense. I even went into the chat room yesterday, for the first time in my life. Did a funny little act of an old confused grandpa who dropped 'is mouse on 'is teeth but didn't know where to look for them because he lost 'is glasses, only to find out that he was sitting on them and they were utterly bent.

It just happened. I couldn't stop it and i loved it. That's what an audience does to me. I love to be a clown. Not a joker. Nor a jerk. Nor a nerd.

Nexus after 2-3 days is WAY beyond my wildest expectations. I didn't even have any. Thought i'd drop the mod and continue with what's left of my life. NO SIR. Nexus makes me happy. There's so much more to learn, and so many talented people to learn from. This is HOME.

  • 1 month later...

So we're one month further now, and i have my Mod and an Update (service pack) and a Savegame online. I fear i'm neglecting the mod's own site, but with these three files on The Nexus i guess that anyone who wants to give this baby a try will find their way.

I'm still quite a newbie here, so i'll probably make many mistakes. I have no idea how to notify downloaders of the new Upgrade for instance. Not by personal message, of that i'm pretty certain.

So much more to find out. Oh and by the way: Thanx, Bess. Home is where the Daedra Heart is...
