Stargazer09
I've claimed Croup Manor as a settlement, and soon after I cleared it 2 settlers moved in (this was a radiant quest given by another settlement). I recently returned to install beds, defenses etc and the ghouls had respawned. Is there any way to prevent this from happening in the future? TheGadget1945
If you are on PC you can use the "disable" console command. I have downloaded rdunlap's "Croup Manor Restored" and I think it may remove them but not sure as I had already disabled them.
Stargazer09
Thanks Gadget. You mean, disable the ghoul corpses? Why not "markfordelete" too?
StarMystyk
That's what I do with persistant corpses at settlements. Disable and markfordelete. They're then permanently gone.

Also I did them back when I first started using console commands and didn't want to do too much and risk ruining something. I tried to disable the fallen floor at Egret Tours Marina and disabled the entire building !

As long as the ID is still in the console when you accidentally disabled the wrong thing, just type enable to get it back.I often disable something other than what I'm wanting to and it takes a few tries to find the right thing, using the scroll wheel on the mouse. Often I've disabled the green glow in build mode. Big oops. But, nothing enable can't fix. As long as I haven't selected something else in the meantime, then I have to reload my save. jjb54
Just a word of caution: I hope it's not too late. Make sure you backup your saves before you "markfordelete" or "disable". As they worked great in Skyrim and the other past games. But ... I had 3 instances of where with FO-4, where it umm ... did not work so well. Stargazer09
I've been disabling corpses in my settlements, so far so good. What didn't work so well, if I may ask?
TheGadget1945
For myself one odd thing happened after I disabled the famous corpse at Spectacle Island, though I don't know if it was the cause. I lost the ability to travel to the island by ANY means. Whether I fast travelled or swam there the game had a CTD. I googled the problem and though lots of people had the problem nobody seemed to have found the solution.Even when I had to "help defend Spectacle Island" I couldn't and happiness went down to zero percent.
