YouRGankeD
Sup guys I'm new to Fallout 4 on PC and new to modding aswell so sorry if I'm not making sense. Anyway, I downloaded a couple settlement mods shown in the screenshot below I'm having issues in-game where certain placeable items aren't showing up in the catalog and don't show up prior to placing them. However I can "place" them and they don't appear while still taking my resources. I know I'm bad at explaining stuff so here's a link to a video showing what I'm talking about. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4fJvc3czPDw&feature=youtu.be Thanks. Hi Ganked, I think that you probably don't have your Fallout4Custom.ini set-up correctly. Navigate to "C:Users/[YOUR NAME]/Documents/my games/Fallout4/" You should see a few files and a folder where your savegames are stored. Copy and Paste the file Fallout4.ini and rename the copy to Fallout4Custom.ini Open Fallout4Custom.ini and delete everything in the file. Write these three lines: [Archive]bInvalidateOlderFiles=1sResourceDataDirsFinal= Save the file and then see if your mods work again. Let us know if this fixes it and happy modding :) Edited May 11, 2016 by Hazz3r
ddavies10693
without those lines and changes mentioned above ^ your game can't load custom textures and meshes, which is why nothing is showing up. Once you make those changes, it'll work fine. However DO NOT use repairable sanctuary. It's an outdated mod that breaks a lot of things in and around Sanctuary. At best, it doesn't work completely because it's so outdated, while at worst it breaks sanctuary and makes it annoying to visit, or causes big problems for your whole game, requiring a full reinstall. At the time of posting this I did have that however I added it after I had mods installed via NMM and I also wrote it in Notepad++. I just reinstalled everything and I don't have a file called fallout4.ini anywhere. Should I just rewrite it in notepad++ and try added mods agains? Also since its going to have the mods on my old save will I have to make a new character? (I just started a playthrough so it's not a big deal) Sorry for the slow reply Edited May 12, 2016 by YouRGankeD

Thanks for the info though because I would've kept trying to reinstall it.
YouRGankeD
Sup guys. This issue is now solved. It seems to have been fixed by reinstalling my game and adding that text BEFORE adding mods. So if you are just starting out modding FO4 don't rush into it like I did and follow what Hazz3r posted. "Navigate to "C:Users/[YOUR NAME]/Documents/my games/Fallout4/" You should see a few files and a folder where your savegames are stored. Copy and Paste the file Fallout4.ini and rename the copy to Fallout4Custom.ini Open Fallout4Custom.ini and delete everything in the file. Write these three lines: [Archive]bInvalidateOlderFiles=1sResourceDataDirsFinal= Also, something different I did this time around was add this string of text "bEnableFileSelection=1" to the Fallout4prefs.ini Again to get there Navigate to "C:Users/[YOUR NAME]/Documents/my games/Fallout4/ I'm not sure if this is even necessary or this method is outdated. Thanks again guys.
