Point of view effects

I was watching T.V. not too long ago and I saw an add for a recent video game. I have forgotten its name but it was a first person shooter set in a western environment. What caught my eye, as I was not watching too thoroughly is when I saw a point of view environmental effect. What I mean is that the vision of the game followed more articulate actions of the body rather than being stationary. In this case the character being played fell off of a cliff and tumbled down it rather then just falling. The screen fell with it in the body's motion. When it hit a rock the body twisted in that direction and began spinning as if it really hit a rock, the vision followed of course. This sort of interaction with the environment is really something I would like to see added to the Elder Scroll experience. I think this might be too complicated for an Oblivion mod but is certainly in the scope of the next game in the Elder Scroll's line up. Other such advancements in this direction would be falling down or getting hit. If someone swings a blunt object horizontally at your head and you fail to block properly then then your head should jerk into an angled view as your vision would if you were actually looking through their eyes. And if you aren't strong enough then you could be knocked to the ground on your side then everything should follow and you would be viewing the world in a sideways manner. It could even be applied to an extreme, to where if you run into a wall hard enough your head and vision will jerk back and you wall fall down seeing the entire thing as that person would. I think this would really immerse players in a very definite fashion along with any other strategies games are going to use to draw in a player in the near future.
