Radio Era vs Time Line of Fallout New Vegas

Ok so I have a very important question, please someone shed some light on the subject because.. wtf?!

Ok according to Mr House (spoiler: the super computer) the bombs fell 2077, now I understand a nuclear blast would also wipe any electronic devices so bye bye CD's MP3's, Tapes, etc.. ok so basically only records would be left.. so I understand the concept of where the radio music is coming from but if the bombs fell in 2077 how would anyone really be finding 1950's records.. I mean its a challenge to find old fashion records today (not impossible).

Ok with that being said, some people survived obviously, and obviously we have people now running radio stations and some new singers as well as holotapes. So why after 200 YEARS are the radio stations playing 1950's era music? Obviously SOME of the people that survived would have remembered the music of 2077 or at least invented their own! Why after 200 Years are we still seeing posters from 1950, did the glossy paper of posters from 1951-2077 some how have an alergic reaction to the nuclear radiation that the pre 1950 posters didnt have. Dont get me wrong, I LOVE the game, I just LOATH the radio stations and thus all radio station mods (except one that I've found) cling to the 1950's era music.... why??

Could someone explain to me what I am missing here in the year 2277?

Physics in the Fallout universe work differently from the ones in our world.

Thus, radiation in the Fallout world causes creatures to grow into massive sizes (in real life, it would just kill them) and nuclear bombs do not emit electromagnetic radiation upon detonating.

The Fallout world does not draw inspiration from how we think the future is going to be like now-a-days, but rather, how people thought the future was going to be like in the 50's and 60's. That is why there are those sci-fy, cheesy looking laser weapons, music and vehicles.

Essentially, Fallout is a futuristic 1950's. The world before the nukes was like that, making the wasteland like it as well.

Then why not have the bombs fall in the 1950's? Its totally possible for that to have happened and even then +200 years if the bombs fell in 1950 thats the beginning era we'd start thus explaining the era of the game.. but saying the bombs fell in 2077 doesnt mnake sense. So why tag it with a future date at all, heck +200 years froim 1950 is still vastly enough time to explain technological developement for robots andriods, vertibirds etc. Saying the bombs dropped in 2077 simple doesnt make sense. But leaving that date aside +200 years from a blast would still show some kinda of developement in the communities and musical variences. In Fallout New Vegas you have the exact same music playing 200 years post the fallout of a nuclear war. I'm not saying there wouldnt be a channel or something with this music and even with radiation and the loss of billions of lives, 200 years still would have brought some sort of developement. Take the era from 1950-1960, with only 10 year difference mnusic had a dynamic change. The music between those 10 years is like apples and freeze dried plums its totally different. SO why is +200 years showing infinate technological development but absolutly no musical development.

And as far as electromagnetic radiation, your only half right, no electromagnetic radiation, its an EMP electromagnetic pulse. Like a bomb explosion for anything with circutry and electricity

That will most likely answer most of your questions.

The reason why the music is the same from when the bombs fell is because there really hasn't been very much human growth since 2077. Radiation takes a very long time to dissipate. I'm not a scientist, nor am I fluent in the knowledge of the Fallout universe, but for the sake of argument, let's say that the radiation dematerialized enough for it to be possible for humans to live and thrive 100 or more years after the bombs fell. 100 years, with barely anything left, both physical and the knowledge of the past, is not a long time to continue to evolve technologically. Meaning, they have to live off of and maintain what's left. In Fallout 3 they barely finished the water purifier, which was mostly left over from the pre-war era.

In layman's terms, not enough time nor technological know-how to build anything new. They have to live off of what's left.

Just to add to that argument, it takes thousands of years for nuclear fallout to disipate. Aside from that you still have 200 years of survival and you have bomb shelt "towns" (Vaults). But even if it took a hundred years before any progress could be made, thats still another hundred years with no progress. In the end the game conceopt is great, I love the game but the game history is simply shotty development. Now all I need to do is find a non twangy (county music) non 50's radio station mod so I can actually stand to listen to the ingame radio.

Laser weapons, robots, and even mr house would not exist if the game took place in the 1950s.

Nor would power armor or the vaults. The cars you see would not exist. Veritbirds would not exist.

The reason the timeline expands is so technology can expand, it makes perfect sense.

Also, it does not take thousands of years for nuclear fallout to dissipate. It takes a matter of days. The bombs dropped on Japan have new cities built up with no radiation at all, we did not drop those bombs thousands of years ago.

Would you not called the forming of a massive new government development? What about the forming of massive armies?

The developers used their artistic license to create a rather enjoyable milieu. The joke about developing a group of followers for some guy called the King was worth the 1950s feel alone. Don't fret about New Vegas not resembling your own vision of what exactly 2077 and subsequent change would look like.
