Learning to Mod using the Toolset

Hello!

I, also, do not wish to highjack this conversation but I think my issue is related and this seems like the best place for me to get the help I need.

Scenario: I downloaded the mod "Freckles Plus". Unfortunately, it replaces the original set of tattoos instead of simply adding to it.

In the comments for that mod, I saw SteGab1979 say that it is possible to use the Dragon Age toolset to keep the original set of tats and add to it the new set offered in F+.

And I quote:

"TO THOSE OF YOUS WHO USE TOOLSET AND DON'T WANT THIS TO REPLACE ANYTHING:

You can rename the files to anything with the structure uh_tat_***insert_whatever_yous_wants***_0t.dds and that's a 'bout it!"

Right...

This might be obvious for any modder out there, but for me it's a different story:

1- I'm not a modder (surprise!)

2- I haven't the slightest idea how to use the toolset, nevermind which files I'm supposed to play with and where to find the said files. (I most certainly don't want to make my game unplayable because I tweaked the wrong things!) :ohdear:

Oh, one more thing: of the little I know about how mods work, when I get to the point of having to rename files, I suppose the F+ tats sets have the original tats sets' names, right? (In other words, the original names were reassigned with new images.) So renaming the F+ tats sets to whatever I want, like SteGab1979 says, is what I'll have to do or does it not matter, as long as the respective sets (original v.s. F+) have different names?

Am I making any sense? Hahaha! (Feel free to ask me what the f- I'm trying to say if not.)

So on that note: is there anyone willing to help me through this? (Pretty please with a cherry on top? And sprinkles!)

Thank you very much in advance!

MC

P.S. I forgot to say: I want the changes to be applied to work with the Character Creator, which is what I usually use to create my characters; I do not wish to use the toolset for creating characters (not yet, anyway).
