Expanded Dawnguard

Let me say first, I have no skill at modding, and have no time to pursue this myself, I thought I would toss my aimless rambling out there in hopes of inspiring one of the outstanding moddists who have created so many of the mods that I have enjoyed here.

I don't know if you are like me, but ever since I first picked up a copy of Daggerfall, back since the very first day it came out, I have been enthralled with the concept of catching porpheria, having the dream and stalking the world of elder scrolls as a blood sucking member of the undead. I don't think I have ever managed to complete a playthrough of any of the following games without at some point becoming a vampire. Every time I get started I swear I will play and become a werewolf, or stay human, but to no avail, I always end up catching the disease......

if your like me then what you want more of is CONTENT....

Firstly so much of what I am looking for is out there in some form or another, done by the giants whos shoulders are there to be stood on already.....

mods such as: Better Vampires, Vampiric Thirst, AFT, Lustmord, Live another life, and many more.

What I propose is this, based on the lore surrounding vampirism (as layed out here: http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Vampire ) would it be possible to take several of these previously mentioned mods and bind them together to create an underlying quest mod?

For instance, live another life has 2 different options out there involving beginning as a vampire, one where you are freshly turned and living in a vampire dungeon and you begin your story as a fresh young bloodsucker new to Skyrim. How easy would it be to add a quest NPC and give direction to the character, maybe an elder issuing quests. A master vampire who has been sent to oversee his clans expansion into Skyrim, The second involves awakening in the local hall of the dead after being slain by a vampire, maybe it could be expanded to explain that after meeting a mysterious stranger in an inn and spending an evening with a little too much slap and tickle, you wake up to find yourself the newly dead. Once freeing yourself from the catacombs you are approached by your new master who explains to you that you are the newest member of the undead.

It would be outstanding if we could create an option that could allow you to choose your clan and based on that choice you could have a preset list of strengths and weaknesses for that clan. ( most of these could be created manually with say better vampires.... perhaps we could create presets for each type allowing the player to chose a package and progress with that vampire skill package.) Some are weakened during the day, while some are utterly destroyed, some are powerful casters while others are mighty warriors.

Quest line hooks could involved creating a powerful master that sends the fledgling vampire, from either of the above scenarios out on missions that he / she feels are to dangerous to risk doing themselves. (especially considering the recent upsurge of dawnguard activity in the province)

Perhaps the fledgling vampire has been enlisted to investigate the rumors that the vampires of castle Volkihar have come dangerously close to finding an artifact that will allow them to gain some incredible imbalance of power.

Perhaps the Thalmore have enlisted your vampire clan to infiltrate skyrim and assist them in gaining a foothold in there, with the promise of free reign to feed on the population should they succeed.

Or maybe the imperials or stormcloaks have offered the same option, or all three.

Reports have come in that there is an existing sect of the dark brotherhood in skyrim and they are reportedly harboring a vampire created from a child, a crime in your specific clan, and you have been enlisted to track them down and put and end to this abomination.

Essentially the quest hooks could go on and on, but the idea is to create a quest mod where in addtion to adding vampire themed quests and a storyline to the game, it ties in the rest of the existing game and paints it from the perspective of a new vampire.

Thanks for the consideration, and feedback......

if the idea appeals, go for it, if I can help, let me know....
