TES IV Texture Dimensions

Recommended Posts

I'm making some rocks and cliff sections that use non-tiled diffuse and normal as ambient occlusion and curvature are baked in. Rocks are very low polygon and either use 1024x1024 (small to medium) or 2048x2048 (about minibus). The cliff sections are fairly large and need 4096x4096.
All looks fine and runs okay on my pc.
Compared to the tiling of textures on many such vanilla rocks I would expect there is less overall pixel load and render per cells loaded.
What I don't know is how various machines will handle whatever texture dimensions.
Are the 4096x4096 going to be too large for a number of machines?
If certain texture dimensions are a problem I can halve/quarter them as all UV sections have been cut and blended as such.

Maybe this was the wrong place to ask this but either way I'm going ahead with what I'm doing.

If I quarter the textures I have to adjust UVs which is not only more work but ruins it for everyone.

If anyone has problems I'll simply offer a low res pack.
