Modding diseases and other fun survival things....

So I have an idea for a rather ambitious mod, especially considering that I have little modding experience in general. The short description is I want to make a perk that adds some vampire-ish stuff, such as a thirst for blood. Kind of based on like the survival thirst for water, and stealing using a few things from the cannibal perk. Not because it's lore-friend, but just because I feel like it.

I've figured out how to make a custom perk, and for now I'm using a custom magazine to add it to a character (that I told the game looks like Med-X, then plopped it down in Sanctuary). I've also added a few basic things to the perk, like more strength (based on the player's level) and less effects from chems/alcohol/etc.

I'm pretty sure the thirst / blood craving bit is going to take some scripting, aka programming (thankfully I know a few things about the object-oriented kind). I have F4SE working in my game. I've found Champollion, but have no clue how to use it. I tried reading the readme, but you see... I'm an idiot when it comes to command line, and I think I'm supposed to use command line to use it. I think. So does anyone know of a tutorial? I'm a visual person, so some pictures would probably do me a lot of good. Also does it matter that I'm still running win7? Basically the only plan I have is using Champollion to decompile some scripts I found in the hardcore folder, and then pull my hair out trying to make sense of them very very slowly.

If this won't take scripting, then what will it take? I have FO4Edit and the creation kit ready to go. And while they are helpful for some things for this project... they don't seem to be able to do everything I need to. It just feels like some of the pieces I need are just missing.

Well for one thing I got pex and psc files backwards. Even if they might be a bit out of date, that scripts folder has decompiled / source files. Even has comments and stuff.

Thank you for the link though, I'm definitely moving in the right direction for now.
