amycus
ok, those are the files I needed.EDIT: I'm posting here as it might help others in the future. I've only just downloaded it and taken a quick look (will work on it later today), and I think I've located the problem. It is a problem caused by the weightpaint, but it is a little different from what I initially thought. From your earlier description (and that I couldn't see that well with the pics) I assumed that some vertexes were flying around depending on bones that shoudn't affect them. That isn't the case here though as far as I can see right now. HOWEVER, the long skirt has been weightpainted in a way so that there is no gradual change. All the vertexes (on the skirt) that are dependant in any way to the right leg is COMPLETELY RED. This leads to the following result when trying to bend the characters leg: http://i296.photobucket.com/albums/mm200/amycus89/visitors-1.jpg?t=1312017975 Another pic to illustrate the problem (is it made of steel, bent with a superhuman kick?):http://i296.photobucket.com/albums/mm200/amycus89/visitors-2.jpg?t=1312018863 Looking at your pics after this, that seems to be the trouble you had. If I bend the legs enough the skirt is close to collapsing - and that even though the polygon density in the skirt is noticable higher than the rest of the mesh. The good news is that I don't need to search around for a tiny little vertex with the wrong colour, but at the same time it is a bit more time consuming since I will need to redo the whole weight paint on the robe and playtest it a few times (by moving the skeleton around). hsli
It's because the bone weight was assigned poorly. The camera angle never showed the bottom part of Flemeth's robe, so I was too lazy to correct those errors.

Whoa, sorry for criticizing your work... :whistling: I just added the last pic to illustrate the hard edges and stretching of textures that are created when the legs are bent. Well, I will send a copy of the "corrected" files later on to you too when I'm finished and edriano is satisfied with the result, although it's obviously up to you if you feel like using them. Edit: Just a status update in case anyone is wondering, I did fix the weightpaint as I wanted it, but eshmes tools seem to be complaining for some reason. Luckily though it works on gmax so I can still do it. It's just that I have to redo the weightpaint yet again, since I can't find any way to export the mesh (with the weightpaint intact) to gmax. Should be done tomorrow though 2nd EDIT: Almost done, just some small clipping from one single vertex close to her belt that I must have accidentally edited while working with the rest. Its getting late here though, so I will have a look at it tomorrow. Sorry about that. Edited August 2, 2011 by amycus
amycus
Ok, the mesh is rigged as I want it now. However, for some reason it seems like eshmes tools only ant to export a .met file. I have searched around and there are some others who have had the same problem. They have all solved by themself though, and of course without explaining how... I'm still looking into it, but if anyone knows why it doesn't want to export the other files, please tell me.In worst case I will have to do it when I get home to my main computer where everything is already setup and working. I'll be home the next Thursday in that case. Edited August 3, 2011 by amycus
edriano
Cool, thank you for your work and efforts Amy http://www.thenexusforums.com/public/style_emoticons/dark/thumbsup.gif. See you next Thursday then.
edriano
It's Thursday, just drop by to ask how it goes http://www.thenexusforums.com/public/style_emoticons/dark/thumbsup.gif .
amycus
Like I said I'm starting to go HOME by thursday. There is no teleport yet as far as I know :P. I'm leaving the airport in less than 1 hour. So I will upload it either late tonight or early tomorrow depending on when I get there.
amycus
Alright, just got home, and it's 23:00 here. My computer is currently nagging me about all the updates that has been released while I was away. Will move the 3ds max scene to this computer soon and export (****, another update poped up while writing this) it tonight hopefully as soon it's done with the updates. EDIT. Updates are finished and it seems like this computer (unlike my paptop for some unknow reason - I think it hates me. Maybe it's jealous?) had no problems to export it. Will just take a closer look on the original authors file structure so I can give you proper instructions on where to put them. Then I will send those and a downlink to you with PM. If you then could be so kind to playtest it and tell me anything that needs to be changed, I will give it a try. When you are satisfied with it I will send the files to the original author too Edited August 11, 2011 by amycus
edriano
That was fast , can't wait to try it.
amycus
sent you a pm with download link. Didn't export a .mao file since I can see no reason why the old one shouldn't work (I was careful to give the files the same names as the original). If you do find any issues, just post them to me and I will see what I can do. @Hsli, I have currently only sent the files to edriano and to another who read this thread ansk asked me through PM. I will let these 2 playtest it a little, and when they are satisfied, I will send you the final version of the updated files. Hope you don't mind... EDIT: if anyone notice that I repeat myself a lot right now (more than usually at least  ) I will blame it on lack of sleep. I woke up 6 AM this morning, and I am now writing this while the time is exactly 0:00 Edited August 11, 2011 by amycus
