New to GECK and creating mods: could I get some advice?

So I have been modding skyrim and fallout 4 for a while (with varying degrees of success), and now with the geck in beta I am rather interested in learning a bit more and maybe creating something myself. I do have a few questions in mind that I am hoping someone might be willing to help me with. Just as a preface, I am most interested in learning to mod items and perks, and related topics.

Is there a wiki or reference or similar that details what each field means? I've poked around the geck just to get an idea of what it all looks like, and to me many of the fields are unclear as to exactly what they modify, or how modifying the stat would alter the in game effect. Any information on what each thing does would be very helpful.

Tutorials for the fallout 4 iteration of the geck seem to be a bit sparse at the moment (probably as it is still in beta). Do you think learning how to use the skyrim creation kit would help with learning to use the fallout 4 geck (as the games use the same engine), or are they different enough that it would muddle things?

Are there any good recommendations for a papyrus script editor? I am dyslexic so something with syntax highlighting or similar features would be immensely helpful.

Lastly, any recommendations on tutorials (preferably video) for mod creation or learning papyrus?

The fallout 4 geck is almost entirely the same as it has been since Elder Scrolls: Morrowind. There's some things that have been changed about the game itself but you should be able to get started by looking at Fo3/NV/Oblivion tutorials for some things and Skyrim for others. Scripting is very close to that in Skyrim as are the way that in game objects are treated.
