Retaking Teagan's farms for the Minutemen?

So I was doing Proctor Teagan's quest, forcing farmers to turn over their food. I am on a Minutemen playthrough and am currently playing the BOS for their resources before eventually double crossing them and doing Our Powers Combined. Anyway, I forced Abernathy Farm to turn over his crops to the BOS and it says that the settlement is no longer allied to me and now I can't build on it. The BOS controls the settlement. I was just wondering if there is a way to retake the settlement?

Also, my character is kind of torn between the two factions at the moment. He believes in helping the people of the Commonwealth and stands for freedom and justice. The Minutemen embody that fight, and he joined up with BOS because he mistakenly thought they stood for the same thing. I have planned to double cross BOS from the start, but I want my character to come to a gradual awareness of their true nature as they do more and more distasteful things. He is pretty disgusted by the farm missions, Kell's basically using child soldiers in the squire escort missions, and how the BOS wants to rule the Commonwealth instead of liberating it. He is realizing that he was unwittingly sucked into a fascist army.

So I know that I eventually have to turn the BOS hostile. But the thing is I want it to happen organically instead of just randomly shooting up the Prydwen or something. By that I mean a moment in the story that provides a natural break with the Brotherhood, something that would inspire a freedom-loving individual to take up arms against them. The Institute quests are out of the question. I was thinking maybe the conclusion of the Paladin Danse storyline, or when the BOS sends me after the Railroad would make good points to turn against them. It needs to be sufficiently objectionable that someone with a conscience would not only say no, but would actively resist.

The only way of retaking the settlement after "foolishly" grabbing it for the BOS is to kill every settler in the settlement.

There are a few ways to organically "backstab" the BOS.

1. Kill a named BOS NPC, (Elder Maxon will do it)

2. If you side with the Institute, complete "Airship Down"

3. If you side with the Railroad, complete "Rockets Red Glare"

Other than whacking a BOS NPC ... the Minutemen are always neutral to the BOS ... that is unless you go and kill one of the named BOS NPCS.

If I kill Abernathy will he respawn later? His wife and daughter were killed by raiders in a settlement attack, but they came back. I kind of like Abernathy and don't want him permanently gone. He has been a loyal comrade to the minutemen

Another question- if Paladin Danse is killed at the end of his quest can I still get his companion perk? That would seem like a good spot to kill Maxson, but I don't want to miss Danse's perk. If I keep Danse alive there he will become hostile.

Blake Abernathy is not essential.

You will not get Danse's companion perk at the end of his quest. I used the console to check his affinity at the end, and it is just shy of the required 1000. I believe the number I got was something like 999.95
