obsolete file pages

While browsing the Nexus, I discovered that there seem to be a not unimportant number of file sites that not offering any downloadable material and therefore are obsolete and could easily be deleted.

Here are 12 examples of what I'm talking about:

http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=41577

http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=42265

http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=40956

http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=40992

http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=35858

http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=40447

http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=38936

http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=42297

http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=41446

I also found out that browsing the categories and sorting the selected category by “downloads ascending” obvious candidates of obsolete file pages can easily be identified since downloads cannot be counted when there's nothing to download.

Try it for yourself in the category weapons and sort the category by downloads ascending.

You'll find 8 entries with no files to download. And these are just the obvious ones.

I know that maintaining and moderating the Nexus takes up a lot of time and I truly appreciate the staff's effort. My point is that decluttering the database of obsolete file pages would further improve the Nexus network and maybe even the database's performance.

Sure, there are also files pages offering no downloadable content that cannot be so easily discovered by the method described above.

Therefore, if I may propose another approach, maybe we could make a contest: Kudos for everyone who reports obsolete file pages.

Thank you for mentioning these, but there are other reasons for files to have 0 downloads (usually if it's mirrored elsewhere), so this method doesn't work so well with older games.

I have however removed a few of the pages which are old and contain nothing more than a file page, and made others hidden.
