Scrapping junk in the field? (Mod?)

The only thing right now is at the Random Workstations .. which there are plenty, all Red Rockets have them and just about all Raider Outposts have 1 or the other if not both.

I scrap a lot when I am at a random station of the lower end weapons.

Is that a mod or you can do it in the default game?

I didn't cheat on the first couple of playthroughs. Now its bat craft or bat wastelandworkshop and voila. I got really tired of scrounging for materials. When I got done building a ton of cages and didn't have the bait I got annoyed and went searching for a bait bat file

Default game. It has to be a workstation for the item type you want to scrap. A weapon station to scrap weapons, etc.

Exactly Base game - no mods required.

DDProductions83 created a mod that lets you craft a Chem which teleports, and break down into components, all junk items in your inventory, sending them to your workbench at Sanctuary.

that looks like a good mod, except that my home base is the Red Rocket outside of Sanctuary. I actually do not even bother going into the Settlement at all.

I wish - I know it's not your mod - that it would allow you to program where you want to send as your 'base home'. I know a couple of player that use Homebase, for the simple reason, the markets to sell most your crap is;

Diamond City

Goodneighbor

Vault 81

Bunker Hill.

So I see that players point for Homebase.

Oh ... well ... "Ada, I have more crap for you to carry, get your robo-butt over here!" ;)

Ha. That's whacked.

Too bad it needs to transport it rather than just keeping the components in your inventory.

Um... ok, but you can assign a settler to the role of Provisioner, and all items stored in one workbench become accessible at every other workbench, provided the settlements are linked via the Provisioners.
