Recommended crafting mods

While Fallout: New Vegas introduced the possibility to craft aid, chems and poisons at a campfire, it lacks my old time favorite to craft awesome self-made weapons. Organizing the needed schematics and components to built them had been a lot of fun in Fallout 3. Fortunately, there are some mods that help fill the void and even expand the horizon. There are 3 areas that I discovered so far.

1. Weapons

 

A modder who calls himself Trueform has reintroduced our beloved Fallout 3 classics for example

the Railway Rifle,

While Trueform also offers a mod to craft the Deathclaw Gauntlet, another modder, Campaigner, came up with a wider selection of Deathclaw Gauntlets to craft, giving us the possibility to craft our own Deathclaw Gauntlet collection. Furthermore, a very nice shotgun can be crafted when installing Assorted Crafting Things.

2. misc items

 

When it comes to making sense out of all the other misc items lying around in New Vegas, Crafting Recipes is highly recommended. The selection of useful items that can be made out of junk when installing this mod is definitely worth checking out. My favorite here is producing money yourself.

3. food

 

Although I never expected it, I discovered mainly thanks to the popular companion mod and my new best friend Willow that cooking is quite a fascinating virtual past time activity. Anyone who wants to expand their food recipes even further, should take a look at New Vegas Food. What I like most about this mod is that the recipes are not too complicated and you can actually cook something without strolling around forever for the last ingredient missing.

Finally, anyone who can agree with „I kind of like being a farmer“ should check out Farming Bob NV. So far, I made my own little garden and took some time of from killing a whole bunch of people.

Would you happen to have any more craftable weapon mods that you'd suggest? I'm not big on cooking or making miscellaneous items, so I might as well pick up a virtual hobby in weaponry.

Well, I personally don't know any other weapon mods yet. That's why I asked for other people to post suggestions.

But if you're willing to go on a quest I once more highly recommend Identity crisis by donlemonade.

 

In the first part, found here http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=39631 ,

you are rewarded with schematics for a plasma shotgun and fission grenades.

 

And the fission grenades are just awesome. You actually have to run and take cover when you use one.
