What controls the random mods on spawned weapons?

Hi...I want to make a mod that equips all of a certain faction with the same weapon, and have all of their weapons configured the same.

I am having a hard time understanding what controls the random configurations that the weapons spawn with (i.e. Short stock, full stock, scope, iron sights, etc.)

 

I ASSUME this has something to do with the leveled item, but I don't see how you can control which modifications the weapons will spawn with.

I want to take away the randomness.

 

Any help/advice is greatly appreciated.

I had a similar problem where the Laser Assisted Electronic Pistol wasn't working well, because it wasn't replacing synth weapons, I tried deleting all the mods in the level list files and it just made institute lasers spawn as invisible, and without any mods on it, or being capable of being on it lmao, then what I did was I discovered the level lists, they're labelled, you'll unfortunately have to look through the entire list basically to find the relevant stuff, and I just manually created an over-ride file, removed all mentions of institute lasers, and replaced it with the LAEP

look for something like
LLS/LLC/LLD/LL _synth_auto/pistol/rifle/shotgun/missile or whatever
and you should find some weapons like synth/institute laser auto/spread/pistol in those files (this is for seeing what kinds of weapons synths spawn with, as an example you'll have to find the other factions like raiders, gunners, minutemen, BoS)

find any differences and mod them to be similar to the exact specifications you're looking for

a good way to see how this is done, but in reverse is to get the BoS weapons variety mod, see how that works (what it changes) and then just edit stuff the way it edits stuff, but for homogeny instead of heterogeny - and for the faction you're looking to change stuff in

I'm taking about the way the weapons themselves spawn.


 

 

 

For instance...If I wanted EVERY INSTANCE of the combat rifle that appears in the game to have the same mods.

 

Let's say I want all the combat rifles in the entire game to have a full stock, a medium magazine, and a long barrel. (NO OTHER random configurations).

What would I have to do to take away all the randomness that the combat rifle spawns with?

 

(The combat rifle is just a hypothetical example, for simplicity reasons).

What i think you're looking for is the object templates. The box 1 are the templates the box 2 is to select the mods you want in that specific template

I think I screwed up when I mentioned condensed level lists too
those might not even be a thing, you might have to put the items in individually, my head hurts, sorry about the screwup, the rest is good though, it might have to choose between things still

NP, a pleasure. Once you have it done you only have to add to the leveled list the main one, one of the templates will be spawned (randomly i think)into the inventory once it's added to the NPC
