Ziggy109
Hey there, I just installed OOO 1.3 and have been having a great time with it! I've encountered no bugs so far, except for one. Random patches of land around the Imperial City (specifically, north of Fanacasecul and near Fort Magia) do not seem to be appearing. In some cases, Fort Magia doesn't appear at all. The issue isn't game-breaking for me, it's just a bit annoying to see a cut of land near the water cease to exist! If anyone could provide me with information on how to fix and prevent this, I'd be very appreciative. Thanks in advance!
David Brasher
If the problem is random (only occurs sometimes) then people have said that it is caused by loose clutter straddling an external cell boundary. A mod could add loose clutter to the ground in a bad spot, but the situation could also occur because of weapons and shields that dead actors dropped on the ground when they were killed. It is said that if an object added by a mod is registered in the wrong cell, then you can have problems with disappearing things. Opening a mod with this problem in a freshly booted copy of the CS will give you error messages telling you exactly what is out of place. If the problem always happens in exactly the same place and always happens without exception, then you have a bad mod. You could remove large sets of mods and play-test over and over to narrow it down further and further until you find the bad mod. If you are a modder, it would perhaps be quicker to create a patch mod to put at the end of your load order that will create identical to master records or near identical to master records so that the land contour will look like it does in vanilla Oblivion instead of broken like the bad mod makes it. Make one slight change to the ground in an exterior cell, and the ground of the entire cell will be saved into the mod and show up that way in-game. Ziggy109
Huh. The problem seemed to fix itself while I was testing to see which mod was causing the error. Nonetheless, thank you for the information!
