NorthWolf
I'm trying to override the GOODBYE for a NPC, but I can't seem to get it working. I have the GOODBYE node in my dialog quest and a custom entry, but the NPC is still using the vanilla ones. How can I fix this?
Korodic
I can't even find the goodbye node sometimes, i have no idea why...
Glenstorm
Have you tried setting your NPC voice to a unique one? (Not MaleAdult04 or stuff like that). Make a new one for your NPC. I'm pretty sure this would solve your problem.
NorthWolf
Realized the random tag was active on the entry I made. Now that it's not, the whole thing works fine. Was worried doing that would mess up other NPCs. D'oh. I imagine Glenstorm's solution is more in-line with common practice, so I'll do that when I make the voices. Thank you! Korodic
Do you know what my issue is? I can't seem to find GOODBYE in the topics... only "goodbyemojave" or something like that
NorthWolf
It's not in Topics, it's in the Conversation tab. Edited July 28, 2011 by NorthWolf

NorthWolf
Yeah. Placing GOODBYE in Topics would be dangerously close to logical, and we can't have that, now can we, GECK?
llamaRCA
Yeah. Placing GOODBYE in Topics would be dangerously close to logical, and we can't have that, now can we, GECK? It's because NPCs can use it to talk to each other (or at least they did in FO3) and their conversation topics are kept in the conversation tab. You don't need to use the GOODBYE topic for your NPC if he's not talking to other NPCs and even then you don't need it.

I was under the odd impression that it was unique to the player conversing with the NPC the same way GREETING is.
