Karanos69
I have several mods installed. Deadly Reflex 7, a Warglaive mod, Ebnseries, and a Texture pack. All of the mods show up in the directory folder before the game launches as well as in the mod manager, but they aren't showing up in game. What am I doing wrong? Karanos69
Nothing? Really? I've just spent about 4 hours bashing my head against the desk.
bben46
First guess, you are using either Win7 or Vista and have installed the game to the default location. Windows has a security feature called User access control (UAC) that protects you from mods and other changes to the programs installed in the default program files location. So what do I do about it?
bben46
Reinstall to a location that is not 'protected' by UACHere is my complete uninstall/reinstall procedurehttp://wiki.tesnexus.com/index.php/Oblivion_reinstall_procedure

So what do I do about it? Couldn't I just turn UAC off to test if it is really the issue? I have one working mod which makes me question why the others don't. Balakirev
Just for accuracy's sake, it's Deadly Reflex 5, not 7. 6 is only in beta, and if you have it installed, you probably should remove it, and there are definitely problems with it as yet. bben46
UAC is a last ditch defense to keep viruses from making changes to operating system files - and disabling your antivirus and firewall so they can do whatever they want to. Yes, you can disable UAC. However, that opens a back door for viruses to take over your computer easily. If you feel comfortable knowing that any program that finds a loophole in your Antivirus will own your system - and you will probably not even know it - go ahead.
