xgamer468
So after finally managing to get an acceptable result with the mesh ingame i noticed some weird black texture spots on an armor that im creating. I really dont know what causes them and i already tried some things like edditing the bones, so the mesh isnt stretched anywhere or painting the _d file completely red to see if its a problem with my UV map but in both cases they still appeared.Second problem is that i have no clue how to create or maybe even get rid of those damn color palettes. Because while it is quite nice to have the combat armour paintjob options in game without actually making that texture i also want to have my personal texture to show up and atm it doesnt. Here are some screeenshots of the black spots and the _dhttp://i.imgur.com/dlLzltR.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/PnoCy9b.jpg Thanks! imnotamexican1
BumpYou're not alone, I'm having similar issues
EmissaryOfWind
It could be due to backwards geometry. I know the ladies of Commonwealth Cuts had problems with it, that caused exactly this issue. I don't know how exactly you can fix it, though.
xgamer468
You mean flipped normals? thats what i thought first but the weird thing is that it looks perfectly fine in Substance Painter
xgamer468
But thanks, ill send them a message, unfortunately i already ran into a new problem, the right leg tends to disappear when i rotate the camera to certain angles and its way too dark, the shadows dont seem to work on it :/
EmissaryOfWind
Check your bounding sphere, it has to encompass the whole mesh, or it will disappear if you look at it indirectly.
imnotamexican1
If you end up finding a solution would you be able to share it with me?No point us both asking them the same question.
xgamer468
I thought armors don't use bounding spheres? I set it to 0 on all of the other parts and it works fine, just not on the leg. Yes I can send you a message when I find something
EmissaryOfWind
That's the only thing I know that might make it disappear under certain angles, it certainly wouldn't hurt to try.
xgamer468
I'll try it as soon as fallout finished downloading on my laptop, thanks!Ok, so this is what she replied:Open in Nifskope, click on the mesh in question (in the viewport) right click, Mesh> Face Normals. Then again, Mesh > Update Tangent Space. Save
