Summary: Been playing Modded Ob for 2 months but this time an error appear and I can't handle it. The last thing I can remember is updating my graphic driver then I shut off pc on went to sleep, morning came then Baam! It's not working anymore. Please help I can't uninstall then install OB again because I already downloaded like 24 BG mods and I dont have back ups so it would be a waste to do so.

I think the error is on Oblivion.exe itself because when I try to run it directly same error appears . Tried to fix my registry using 3rd Party Programs (Adv. Sys Care 4, Glary, CCleaner)

 

So what I think is it has nothing to do with OBMM, WRYE BASH, AND OBSE.

You can reinstall and not lose any mods. Rename your data folder to something else. Rename the folder where your saves are also, and make a backup of your Oblivion.ini.

 

Then uninstall the game using the built in uninstall. Next reboot (very important!)and immediately run a registry cleaner to remove any left over registry entries. Then reboot again to allow windows to repack the registry. Now reinstall, be sure to start the game and allow it to make a new Oblivion.ini, make a save . Now install Shivering isles if you have it, start and make another save - Then add the patch if needed. and make another save.

 

Now, make a back up of the vanilla data folder, the vanilla Oblivion.ini and the vanilla save folder.

 

After all of that, rename your original data folder back to data. replace the new saves folder with the original, and replace the new Oblivion,ini with your original.

 

You will have replaced the actual game, and still have the mods, saves and any changes you made to your ini

Okay thanks I'll make sure to try that, but for now I'll wait for someone that can solve the problem about the exe. One question thought how about the unofficial patches do I have to reinstall them as well? And what If I messed up my mods by trying to find the problem, is there a way for me to get a better mod ordering other than BOSS.

BOSS is good but sometimes it messes mods if it isn't familiar.

 

Do you think it has something to do with dll files? Cause I think I miss a dll or maybe oblivion.exe is simply corrupted.

 

And can't I just copy-paste the whole folder after the clean re-install? That'd save me more time than doing it the hard way if it works.
