barrettsfloyd
Okay, so I come here for help with installation of FOMM because I've have no help over at BGSF, and unfortunately support from Kaburke has not been there. (Kaburke,if you are reading this I could use the help) I have relatively recently re installed my OS, and nuked (reformatted) two of my three hard drives. The problem isn't so much about how to install it, since I do know how, but more about the issues I am having getting to start for the first time after installation. After clicking on which game I want to manage, whether it be Fallout 3 or New Vegas, I get this message, but when I go to that folder there is nothing in there. I have taken to using the fork of FOMM, which is far less than ideal, and would love to get this utility to function the way I know it can. As it goes as of now, FOMM will not function at all. This is the first thread I have made of this here, but not the first time I've asked for help regarding this issue. Please, don't let my pleas for help fall on deaf ears...again. I will be more than willing to attempt to provide any more information anyone needs if they can help me sort this out.
wolfen420
Are you able to get into FOMM at all, or does it close out entirely after that crash?
barrettsfloyd
Are you able to get into FOMM at all, or does it close out entirely after that crash?Nothing at all. I am thinking that since The hard drive that has all my programs and games on was originally used for my OS before the reformat, that it may have something to do with why I can't get FOMM to work now. It worked fine before my most recent OS re install My C drive has my OS on it. Very little else is on there. My E drive has all my programs and games on it, and my H drive has all my other miscellaneous junk on it (mostly downloaded mods for TES and fallout). wolfen420
Hmmmm. Did the OS change? I cant help but wonder if its freaking out because you are installing programs to another drive. That probably isnt it. Did you check the FOMM discussion thread? I recall seeing some people with issues in there and fixing it by deleting a specific file. I can't remember which or where though. =\

The separate hard drives + the reformat are the only things I can think of that could possibly cause this issue. Installing my games to the hard drive with my OS isn't really an option either, since it's only an 80GB SSD...and the remaining space wouldn't be enough to cover Both FO3 and NV modded. I will try checking out the discussion thread though. I'd really like to get this running again, the fork of FOMM is far from an ideal solution. Currently, I wind up finding myself having to install most mods manually rather than making FOMOD's,...and I still haven't figured out how to install mods using Wrye Flash, I can however make a bashed patch...If I can ever manage to get all my mods re installed again. wolfen420
Did you install your .NET Frameworks and / or updates? Visual Runtimes, so on?
barrettsfloyd
Yes, however I have not installed Service Pack 1 yet, last time I did that all of my games quit working. I'll install SP1 in hopes that this will help. I have just created a restore point in case the same thing happens with my games again.
wolfen420
Creepy. SP1 never gave me trouble. Im on Win7 Pro. Other then that I am stuck. I wish I had other ideas for you. I am the same way. I put most mods into a fomod if they have more then just a ESP / ESM file. So the crash dump wasnt even made in your users folder either? Maybe UAC is preventing it? SP1 is now installed...and now none of my games work again. Glad I made that restore point, although I won't use it just yet. I think I'll just install all the updates windows throws at me then see where I stand.
wolfen420
Man that sucks. I don't know what to tell ya at this point. The thing that concerns me more is that SP1 is causing your games to not work.
