Heartcloud
I downloaded an outfit, and for some reason the color when worn is red instead of black and green instead of purple. The screenshots by the author clearly shows the armor is black/white with purple orbs, but on my screen it's red/white with green orbs. There shouldn't be anything wrong with the file as it's a direct download with link provided by author (not on nexus). So I was wondering if this could be a graphics card/settings problem for displaying red instead of black? Is there any way I can find out, maybe check the texture files or something? MShoap13
Seems to me that there are multiple textures with different color schemes. I'd check over the files or the download link(s) for alternate textures.
Heartcloud
No that's all the files it came with. I went through every .dds file and apparently it's supposed to be red. That really sucks as the black looks so much better. Oh well guess the author didn't want to release the black one or something...It's times like this that makes me think the nexus is such a more convenient place to download stuff haha. More active members and links that never expire. If anyone wants to know where that outfit is from feel free to PM me, as someone told me posting links to external sites aren't allowed here or something. David Brasher
I don't think it sounds like a graphics card problem. If black renders as red in your game because of your graphics card, then you should see all sorts of oddities like a red sky at night, red darkness in caves, and Necromancers running around in red robes. If you are a bit of a modder, you could open up the .dds files in GIMP or another program that handles that file type and see what color the texture really is. I don't know of any rules against posting links to outside sites on TES Nexus. People do it all the time. There are a few rules such as not being allowed to post links to the M-----blivion project, or links to sites that aid or abet software pirates. If the texture you have is a modders resource, you could probably find someone on this site who would be happy to quickly change it to the colors you like. Heartcloud
Ah that would be great, as I'm not that great with photoshop. I just tried all the basic color functions and none of them were able to change it to white/black with purple gems, as it was more than just flat basic colors. The site I downloaded it from didn't mention anything about modding permissions, and the author left the site already (not active for last 2 months), so I'm assuming he won't mind if people simply edit the color back into the original.
