Idea: military movement animations

In Fallout 3 and NV you can only crouch, you cannot go prone to take cover or anything else.

 

I suggest a mod which would allow for the following:

 

1) Going prone and crawling military style, which is also good for accuracy while shooting as everyone knows that you get better accuracy while prone because you have better support from the ground.

 

2.) Crouching military style or "going to the knee", the character rests one knee on the ground and thus makes himself a more stable platform for shooting.

 

3.) Climbing. makes the character able to climb ladders and maybe cliffs etc.

 

Also the character should be able to sprint faster than normal running for a short while, but this would use up fatigue points.

 

Also the character should get fatigued while running, so you can´t just run for miles and miles but you run out of breath and have to walk for a while.

 

I think this mod could just port animations from some military game like ARMA 2 for example, if we don´t have any animation makers in the forums.

Considering for prone all you really ave to do is lay on the ground and possibly be able to aim... that one might be possible with NVSE using a binding key. As for the crouching on the knee, someone could make an animation that when you are not moving in sneak mode, you go to one knee (sneak idle). Climbing might be possible with NVSE but it would take some serious animations and at the same time lots of placements in many worldspaces to climb over things. This sort of mod is not easy to do. The prone and knee animations might be simple for someone to do since it's just a sneak idle and laying on the ground connected with a binding key by script. But the climbing most likely will not happen. If someone picks this up, it'd be nice to see.

What I´d like to see is movement somewhat like in ARMA 2

 

Here are ARMA 2 keys for crouching etc. :

 

Q - Crouch, go to knee when idle, run crouched when moving (lower profile harder to hit) also this button stands up straight

 

Z - Go prone. Character hits the dirt and crawls. Lower profile very hard to hit when in cover, also better accuracy when aiming. Hitting this key when prone stands up.

 

V - Step over. Steps over an obstacle like a knee height fence

 

All keys can be customized and bound to mouse buttons for example.

 

N - Night vision, puts on NV goggles if you have them

 

Middle mouse button - Optics. Switches to gun sight view.

 

O - switch optics mode. Some gun sights like the ACOG sight has two modes, long range and close combat mode. This is realistic. Also in vehicles this key switches on things like thermal vision etc.

 

I´d like to see ARMA 2 style moves in Fallout, it would be great if they could be done.
