Sorry4KillU
I apologize in advance, because I'm sure this is a stupid question. I spent a few weeks toying with mods for Fallout 4 and getting the NMM all set up. Now that Far Harbor is out I decided to play through the game again on Survival mode. So anyway, I see someone saying that mods disable achievements now. Well.. ok then. I started the game through Stream, but my mods are still active. My question is, how can I load the game completely vanilla? It seems just having NMM will auto-load the mods, even going through the normal launcher. There's clearly something I am missing. Thanks to anyone who will point me in the right direction. I'm sure it's something super obvious..
Oubliette
Well yes, if you've installed them and not unchecked them they'll all auto load  Kind of the point. Just open NMM go to the plugins tab and right click, iirc there should be a option to disable all the mods you installed without uninstalling them. Or you can go through the game launcher and manually uncheck them all in the data files menu.
Sorry4KillU
I did that just after posting, but the plugin for Fallout4.esm stays checked. Honestly I'm just a big noob with this stuff, I don't even know what an .esm file does. I just want to verify that if all the mods are disabled then achievements will be enabled. It would be a shame to play for weeks just to find out I loaded the game the wrong way.. Thanks a bunch, by the way. I wish I had a better understanding of this stuff. Deleted1205226User
Esm = MasterEsp = plugin That's the system used by Bethesda games. More about it:http://geck.bethsoft.com/index.php?title=Category:Data_Files You'll need your Fallout4.esm to be checked because that is the Vanilla game. You will also need the DLC (Far Harbor) to be checked if you want to play it. Sorry4KillU
Oh that makes a lot of sense, thank you very much. I had the 3 DLC .esm files unchecked, so I will go back in and check those. I think I understand how it works now. 4 plugins loaded, 0 mods active. I should be fine!
