Stormscape
When you get too much money, spend it on a misc. skill like Athletics and Acrobatics. Worth the investment. Or Mercantile or Speechcraft.
kadude
Or just give to the poor! :D Or maybe you could just toss it out the window from the top of a 1000 floor building.
grenthar
what I've done with about 500k gold is to start buying one suit of armour of every type to display in my " aquired building ". Accedentaly (?) killed a shop keeper early in the game. and started to buy weapons for display also. I have stashed 50k in different towns so i don't carry much with me. haven't leveled up cause that would make the game a little one sided, i think . :D
cmac
I really don't see why it is such an issue that it is easy to become wealthy quickly. I will concede that: 1)It is easy to buy 'mega-spells' and large, expensive enchantments from mages2)You can buy most anything3)It is easy to bribe NPCs. But, really, apart from that, there are no game-destroying elements to wealth. Most really good, expensive items are found in the wild, not in a shop, anyway. I think the Dunmer in Ghostgate, and perhaps Mages Guild/Temple enchanters are really the only ones who have items worth a lot of gold.
ShinJiOh
exactly like the bitter cup worth 100,000 you cant buy it you have to find it is there more than one?
Malchik
No, there is not more than one Bitter Cup, it is a unique item. IIRC (and I probably don't) if you give it to Eydis Fire-eye as part of a Thieves' Guild Quest, it is not on her corpse when you kill her later in the game. Shin, could you put full stops in your posts (or commas or colons whatever) they are not always easy to read. Thanks, mate.

Dagger of Symachus
Too much money doesn't exactly "ruin" the game, but it does seem like less important quests (eg:nearly every quest in the Fighters Guild) seem less important when you get the "great" reward of 200 gold are weak items that you will never use that are only worth 100 gold. So it can make the game seem a tad bit more dull, but you could always try one of the alternatives listed above to make it seem less important or to lose it. So, I can say that it is not good or bad, it is more of both. With money, you can do things that you could never do without money (eg:travel on a Silt Strider), but it can than become negative when you get too much, since quest rewards start to become more meaningless and you can make uber enchantments and spells. You can also train to an insanely high level and get all skills maxed out which would most likely make the game too easy (if this happens, set diffaculty bar to 100 and go out in the nude only with your bare hands on Solsthiem with not even amulets or rings on. That should make it more diffacult). And you can buy next to any thing easily. Than again, you can do that with a maxed out mercantile skill too. I can get things with my character with maxed out mercantile skill at about at about one twelvth the cost or so (eg: getting one exclusive restore health potion which would normally cost 175 gold, I could buy for 10-15 gold).
