Is being too rich a bad idea?

I like money, having too much shouldn't be a bad thing in any case, cept' maybe real-life (taxes and charity n' all) they made most of the stuff that you can buy expensive and in remote areas so that you'd spend lots of time, money getting there and then lots of money buying the stuff. Most quests, for instance some of the mages guild quest require you to spend more money than you get for a reward. :innocent:

Being to rich can be a bad thing and it can be a good thing.

When I was at level 1 I got up to 400K by stealing stuff with the Amulet of Shadows and getting lots of glass armor from GhostGate. I depeleted my money down to 250K spent on training with master trainers up to 100 on Marksman, Short Blade and Light Armor. I accquired some more glass armor and sold it to bring me up to about 310K. I got some nice armor and stuff (BOBS, Curiass of Saviors Hide, Robe of Drakes Pride etc.) now I am almost master of House Hlaalu. There are some bossees who are hard, under certain circumstances. I challenged Vivec (just unlocked his door and whent in, not with the main quest or anything.) I put on the AOS and shot him with my daedric longbow. I kept doing it and probably could of killed him, had I not paused to put out a scroll of soultrap, and let my AOS run out. He then killed me in one shot with some magic stuff.

Right now I am thinking about using my money on training for misc. skills, Heavy Armor and Blunt Weapon. (right now I am a thief with light armor and short blade etc.). I decided I want to join the Legion, I could collect some heavy armor and stuff, store it at my stronghold and switch according to the quest I was doing. I will probably run out of money doing this which is my goal.

A question: Will Dagoth Ur, or any other bosses be challenging with skills like mine? (lol, not bragging...) I just hope I didn't ruin the game or anything.

Going a bit off topic, Xionith. Not bragging indeed. To answer your question, Dagoth Ur is a weak character compared to Umbra, Gaenor, Her Hands, Almalexia, Grurn, the Black Dart Gang etc. But they too can be easy with 1) difficulty level set at -100 2) a high level that gives you so many hit points that you are all but immortal 3) powerful artifacts, healing potions and a good strategy.

Nothing can be done without mods to make Dagoth Ur stronger. That fight is a bit of a anticlimax IMO. But set the level at +100, stop levelling and don't take any uber items and you might get a battle. Better still start a new game and keep trying to take him out at a low level. (He regenerates but it will tell you the lowest level you can kill him at.) Of course getting to him at level one with the slider on +100 is just a tad difficult but once you are there you can set a mark.

You know whats really fun to do when you have plenty of money? start a stockpile. Just pick a room in some city or some easy to remember easy to get to location, and start piling it up wit artifacts. Dont sell nething, cuz u got enuf gold u dont need to! pretty soon your room will have like millions of gold coins worth or artifacts, unique items, expensive items, cool looking items, etc. and you can just walk in and feel amazingly rich and powerful. Lotsa fun :) I try to keep my stockpile full of only items worth 1000 or greater, nothing under that.

i agree with most of the people like its an ok idea to have lots of money but when it gets to that point u know whats the point personally what i would do is find a house thats empty for istnaces hhlau manor and pick a place to stash your money and jus bring like 500 gold with you that way there is still the point of money you know and if u ever need some money jus go back to the stash and take out a bit

money is great!!!dont know what to spend it on??? try real expensive constant effect spells that you wanted to make ages ago but couldn't...or make spells...or just keep it for travelling coz if you're a big time adventurer you'll need it....

most of my money goes on enchantments and bounty!!
